The Wrestling Show
A DIY/DIT take on wrestling, mixing elements of Lucha Libre, WWE, ballroom, physical theatre and good old sock wrestling.
The project began at The Palace Residency 2021 and snowballed from a simple desire: to wrestle. The Wrestling Show is now a sold-out annual fundraiser and community event.
The community is invited to create narratives and stories around a conflict of their choice, and we bring them to life in the ring. Each fight becomes an opportunity for a statement, ranging from the silly to the serious, for example: Soft-boiled egg vs Hard-boiled egg to Jeff B vs Amazon Employee.
It’s an opportunity for release, creativity, play, and catharsis, resulting in moments of collective effervescence!
