The Wrestling Show

is a queer take on wrestling, mixing elements of WWE, ballroom, surreal theatre and good old sock wrestling.

The project serendipedously started at The Palace Residency a few years ago, and snowballed from a simple desire: I want to wrestle. Now, The Wrestling Show is a sold out fundraising and community event taking place yearly.

Members of the community are invited to create narratives and stories revolving around a conflict of their choice and we then bring them to life in the ring. Each fight becomes an opportunity for a statement, ranging from the silly to the serious, for example: Soft-boiled egg vs. Hard-boiled egg followed by Democracy vs. Hedonism.

Taking inspiration from the pleasure activism movement it’s an opportunity for release, creativity, play, and bonding - resulting in a rare moment of collective effervence and release from inhibition.
